My IA Summit Schedule
In less than two weeks I'll be off to Las Vegas for the Information Architecture Summit. This is a quick run-down of what I'll be doing:
- On Thursday, March 22, I'll be running the Social IA Workshop with Rashmi Sinha and Thomas Vander Wal. We'll be dissecting the lastest trends in social media, looking at collaborative IA approaches like tagging, and talking about the social life of information. This session is pretty full, but I think there are still a few spots left.
- On Sunday, Matthew Milan and I will give a talk called Rich mapping and soft systems: new tools for creating conceptual models. Matthew and I are fans of soft systems methodology and we'll be talking about how to apply its principles to user experience design. (Note: this session is not about rich internet applications or site maps... sorry!)
- And on Monday, March 26, I'll be on Victor Lombardi's panel Start-up case studies: how five of us started our own businesses. Our research recruiting product, which is still in ninja-like stealth mode after nine months, will be my topic.
Because we're sponsoring this event I'll probably have some semi-official duties handing out "fabulous prizes." So I won't be able hide in my room and fiddle with my slides (which, sadly, is how I spend most of the conferences I speak at). Look for me in the hallways... and say 'hi' if we haven't met.
