Santiago

Jen and I touched down in Santiago today. Next week I'll be participating in an Information Architects retreat and the 7th Society and Internet Technologies Encounter. But for now we're going to explore Santiago, Valparaiso and points nearby.

Through a stroke of luck we ended up at Hotel Del Patio, a brand new 10-room hotel in the Barrio Bellavista. It's so new, in fact, that there are no pictures up on the web and they don't yet accept credit cards. But it's a great place with a rustic-modern feel and a terrace that looks up on Cerro San Cristobal.

Also, my Spanish took a big leap forward today as I (1) successfully withdrew money from the ATM and (2) ordered an ice cream cone (that would be a barquillo doble).
