You might be aware of this already, but... there are several collections of avant pop writing that are really pretty good.

And, in odd synchronicity...

Jess loaned me 'Pattern Recognition' and professed a fondness for cyberpunk. I was going to recommend a cyberpunk anthology edited by Larry McCaffery called 'Storming the reality studio'.

And it turns out that he edited two of my favorite avant pop anthologies: 'After yesterday's crash' and 'Avant pop: fiction for a daydream nation'.
