In four words: So bad it's brilliant.

Trapped in the Closet is R. Kelly's R & B melodrama in 12 parts. Kelly is completely serious about it, but the plot and music and structure of the story end up being absurd and unintentionally hilarious. (Paul, who lent me the DVD, called it one of the least self-aware works of art he'd ever seen.)

A suggestion: don't watch one or two chapters online thinking you'll get the feel of it. Find the DVD, sit down with some friends, and watch them all. The twist that comes in chapter nine is worth it alone. (If you can't wait, read the chapter summaries.)

Should we watch the South Park episode before, after, or in the middle?
