Off the grid

I've been "off the grid," as they say, for the past 10 days on an overdue vacation with my family.

We went to Radium, BC, as we often do. I joke about Radium being the armpit of interior British Columbia. But it's a convenient and inexpensive holiday spot that's 15 minutes from the mountains, the beach and several good golf courses (as well as dozens of mini-golf courses, some of them very good too... you know, windmills and secret passages and other such hazards).

This year we hiked Parker Ridge and the Kindersley-Sinclair col, canoed part of Lake Windermere and the Columbia River, and camped in Jasper along the way. Also, much ice cream was consumed (along with Laffy Taffy and Gold Mine nugget bubble gum).

So it was good.
