Earlier this year I tried to get onboard Battlestar Galactica. I Tivo'd some episodes, diligently watched them and found myself both confused and bored. (Let's face it... unless you know that number 6 exists in Dr. Baltar's head some parts of the show can be utterly baffling.)

So a few weeks ago I picked up the first DVD of season one (which has the entire 2003 miniseries)... and it was fantastic. It's almost on par with Lost as an intricate multi-threaded drama.

And like Lost, Galactic also has faith as a recurring and important theme. It's interesting to me that two shows with essentially sci-fi premises have the most complex explorations of faith. Beliefnet has a good article about the religious influences and themes in Galactica.

Anyway... on to season two.
