Bill Smith's rejected campaign slogans

Edmonton's gearing up for a municipal election next month. Our three-time mayor Bill Smith is going for another term in office. He's running on one of the more lacklustre campaign slogans I've seen: "Keep the momentum going."

Here are some of the slogans rejected by the mayor and his elite team of election strategists:

  • A vote for me is a vote for inertia
  • Let's work together to prove Newton's first law of motion
  • Sometimes when people say 'same old, same old' they mean it in a bad way. But in my case it's actually good!
  • I have the lowest frictional coefficient of all the candidates
  • Noce eats babies
  • Hey Edmonton, I'm trading in my 'buy three, get the fourth term free' card
  • Re-elect Zombie Mayor
  • I put the 'ass' in 'mass' and the 'city' in 'velocity,' dig?
  • Momentum: what you have when you're all out of ideas
  • Please, I can't coast into office without you
