23. Space Moose

Our protagonist, Space MooseThese comix about an amoral, scatalogical ungulate in a Star Trek uniform are puerile and perverted and, every so often, damn funny.

Space Moose will offend even the most tolerant and frankly that's part of its charm. It ran for several years in The Gateway, the University of Alberta's student newspaper. Many of the jokes revolve around the U of Eh, but others are timeless classics. I offer you two of Space Moose's finest:

  1. Antlers of the Damned, a Chick tract parody. (You can also read the Antlers' fan mail.)
  2. Space Moose 90210, which has one of the best Tori Spelling caricatures I've ever seen.

Also worth a visit is the Space Moose website, which has every Space Moose strip ever.

Space Moose has been down for some time now. It seems A. Thrasher recanted for space moose, got married and settled down. He was so 'ashamed' of his creation that he destroyed the website. Track him down, write him letters and emails and make him put it back up.
