Lakers win again

The Lakers beat the Kings and, once again, are moving on to the NBA finals. While the game was fairly even statistically, the Kings were horrible both from the free-throw line and from beyond the arc.

I thought Chris Webber would step up--in the fourth quarter or in OT--but he looked defeated. Mike Bibby, on the other hand, played with poise and intensity and seemed to be the only King willing to take shots.

I don't belong to the anyone-but-LA camp (in fact I prefer the Lakers to their division rivals the Spurs), but I really wanted the Kings to take this series. They have great chemistry, and they play a fast flowing game that's actually fun to watch. I know Phil Jackson's ponderous half-court, feed-Shaqille offense wins games, but it makes basketball a smidge less dull than double-entry accounting. Which is to say, I'll be taping this year's finals so I have something available when I run out of NyQuil. And dreaming about a Nets upset.
