Bill Walton is the NBA's best colour commentator. Unlike, say Marv Albert or Leo Rautins *, who work their inside knowledge of the players and the game, Walton just makes shit up. Every play is an opportunity to utter hyperbolic, nonsensical gibberish. For example, from today's Kings/Mavs game, "Divacs is a master of..." [pause to think of something] "...trickery." What?
* When calling a Lakers' game, Rautins will unfailingly mention that he played with Jellybean Joe Bryant in Italy.
